was a top young footballer who became a talented
professional player. He
broke into the Motherwell first team at 17 and was
soon capped by Scotland. He moved to
top English club Everton and then on to Birmingham
City. His winning goal against France in Paris in
2007 is regarded as as one of the best in Scotland's

Jonathan had an unusual education spending time at
high school in the USA as well as Turnbull High. He
is now a musician in the US having gone to New York
to perform in bars and wait on tables. He was
spotted by a recording executive and a recording
deal followed. Jonathan also played Roy Orbison in the
Johnny Cash film Walk The Line! (more) |

Not
many people can combine professional football with academic
success but Mark managed to do so. As well as playing for Ipswich
Town and Hull City in the 1980s, he gained a degree and went on to complete his
PhD! He is now an expert adviser to the UK police and
has worked with the FBI. Mark also helps top business leaders perform successfully. (more)

Angela
realised a childhood dream when she became a nurse.
She is now a ward sister on a busy Accident &
Emergency unit in a major hospital. Angela
works hard in a high pressure situation ... and
loves her job!

Teachers are very proud when their pupils go on to
represent the school at a high level. Certainly the
staff at Turnbull High were delighted when the
school's jazz band was invited to play a concert at
Disneyland Paris!

took Building Surveying at Salford University before
moving to London where she worked and qualified as a
building surveyor. She went on to become a Partner
in a major surveying firm ... and learn Portuguese
in her spare time!

One of only 25 students across Scotland selected for
the Scottish Space School 2004. This involved
a visit to NASA
headquarters in the USA where he saw the Space
Shuttle and worked with NASA astronauts and scientists. |

Stephen loved snooker from an early age and
practised every day for hours. The hard work
has certainly paid off. He is now one of the world's
top players, already makes a good living and
aims to become world champion one day. |

John's achievement was to help
Britain and its allies win World War I (1914-1918).
Sadly, he paid the ultimate price for his country
when he died at the Battle of the Somme in France.
John was
18 years old.

becoming a football manager. He is a
multi-talented individual who has also worked as a
TV pundit, written for newspapers and is now
studying for a law degree!

Collette studied law at Glasgow University before
going on to complete her training as a solicitor.
She then moved into an important post at the Law
Society of Scotland dealing with other young lawyers

appeared in the children's TV series
Butterfingers. The S1 pupil played a young
footballer whose life changes when she finds a magic
pair of goalkeeper's gloves.

former pupils have achieved a lot in education. Jim,
as the Head Teacher of a large secondary school,

superb middle and long-distance runner. Indeed by
the age of 16 she had already won a number of
