Lloyd
was an actor, stage director and a television
weather presenter before he made the switch to
full-time politics. He is deeply committed to
political change and achieved a major ambition
when he was elected as an MSP for West of Scotland
in 1999. |

Ronnie
Hamilton

A
remarkably talented individual who held national
athletics records and represented Scotland at both
basketball and volleyball before going on to inspire
thousands of pupils to sporting success as the Head
of P.E. at St. Augustine's. |

Sam
Lynch
Sport |

A
talented footballer who played for Scotland
schoolboys. Sam was also an able pupil who went on
to become a Principal Teacher of P.E. He has maintained his
links with football as the successful coach of top
amateur side Spartans. |

Derek
Rodier
Sport |

During
a spell with Hibs, Derek played in the same team as
the legendary George Best - something every
footballer would be proud of. At the same time, he
chose to pursue his education, and successfully
completed a degree at Edinburgh University. |

Gabriel
Salluci
Medicine |

Many
St Augustine's pupils have gone on to enjoy careers
in the National Health Service. Gabriel is a
good example. He studied medicine at Edinburgh
University and has since become an experienced
General Practitioner (GP) based at a health centre
in East Lothian. |

Seonag
MacKinnon
Journalist |

An
experienced journalist who has successfully made the
switch from print to broadcast media. Seonag spent
many years as a newspaper reporter writing for
papers such as The Scotsman. She is now
the Education Correspondent for BBC Scotland. |

Gerry
Holden
Education |

Gerry
read Mediaeval & Modern History at St Andrews and
then took a PGCE at Oxford. He embarked on a
teaching career, first in London and then at the
famous Millfield School in Somerset which has produced
many top sports stars as well as the singer Lily
Allen and model
Sophie Dahl. Gerry is
now Headmaster of Rendcomb College, a small
independent school in rural Gloucestershire.
He also publishes educational books. |

Andrew
Gray
Law |

Andrew
decided at an early age that he wanted to be a
lawyer. He is now well on his way. Five 'A'
Highers at school gained him entry to the Law
Faculty at Glasgow University where he is working
hard and enjoying life. Away from lectures,
Andrew plays sport, is interested in politics and is
a member of the university debating team. |

Alan
Anderson
IT |

Alan
is one of St Augustine's IT achievers. After
studying 6th Year Studies Mathematics with Mrs
Dungate and Miss Murdoch (the Rector), he worked in
a bank before taking Economics at Edinburgh University.
Alan then worked in
stockbroking and finance management, and now works
for City of Edinburgh Council undertaking project
management of large IT contracts. |
