Many former pupils will remember Mr McAveety who taught English and History at Holyrood in the 80s. During this time he was elected as a local councillor. He then became Leader of Glasgow Council before being elected as a Labour MSP for Glasgow Shettleson. He is still an MSP at Holyrood where the posts he has held include Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport. (more)

Katy
McCloskey

Student

Katy is a highly talented student who is not scared to speak her mind. She also has a talent for persuading others to her point of view ... which is one reason why Katy was elected President of the Strathclyde University Student's Association. When she is not involved in student politics, Katy is studying journalism at the university.

Kieran

Not so long ago many children were scared to go to the dentist. This has changed greatly and, as a result, young people are now taking much better care of their teeth. As a dentist working in Glasgow, Kieran is delighted to have played a part in these changes. He is highly thought of within the profession and has been elected to a senior post in the British Dental Association. (more)

Umberto

He now works as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Glasgow's Western Infirmary.  Umberto also lectures to medical students at Glasgow University.

A very successful footballer in the 60s & 70s. Played for Chelsea, Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves, Manchester United, Southampton and ,of course, Scotland. Was part of the 1976 Southampton side which defeated Manchester Utd. in the 1976 FA Cup final ... one of the great upsets in the competition's history.
