Andrea
Gibb


Writer

Andrea is one of Scotland's top writing talents. She has produced thoughtful scripts for stage, cinema and television which deal with the difficult problems many families face. Her writing has great warmth and humour but she refuses to hide the very real difficulties that people face in real life.


Iain

Writer

Iain has not only sold millions of books but has also won many awards for his work which is highly respected by readers and critics alike. His novels cover difficult topics in an original and highly imaginative manner. Iain spent time as a pupil at both Greenock and Gourock High Schools. (more)

Actor

One of Britain's most popular actors. Richard is best known for his Victor Meldrew character but he has played a wide variety of roles on stage and screen. Richard took a long time to become an actor because he didn't think he would ever make it. As he once said, "There weren't many role models in Greenock." Now he is one!

Politics

Jim is one of the 129 MSPs who make important decisions which affect everyone in Scotland.  Indeed, as Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism, Jim leads a busy life in one of the most important jobs in the country!  He is a member of the SNP and is proud to have been elected by the people of Argyll & Bute to represent them at Holyrood. Politics

Sam is a highly-talented individual. He practised as a  neurosurgeon and also enjoyed a high level career in politics. A life-long member of the Labour Party, Sam served as an MP in Westminster and an MSP in Holyrood. He became a senior government minister with responsibilities including education, the environment and sport.


Alf
Young


Journalist

Alf is one of Scotland's top journalists. He was a teacher of Maths & Physics before spending time as a researcher for a political party. He then began his media career with a spell in the newsroom at Radio Clyde.  Next Alf moved to the BBC before joining The Herald where his masterful writing on a wide range of issues is enjoyed by people all over Scotland.
