Joe
Harper
Sport |
|
Joe is
one of Scotland's greatest ever goal-scorers. During
his career he played for Morton, Aberdeen, Everton
and Hibs and scored over 300 goals during his
career. Joe was also capped for Scotland ... and it
came as no surprise that he could also score goals
against international defences. |

Richard
Wilson
Actor |
|
The
Mount School was among the schools Richard attended
in Inverclyde. He went on to become one of
Britain's most popular actors and has played a wide
variety of roles on stage and screen. Richard took a
long time to become an actor because he didn't think
he would ever make it! How wrong he was! |
|

Willie
O'Hara
Comedy |
|
Willie, who attended Cowdenknowes High, has gone on
to build a career as a stand-up comedian - one of
the toughest jobs there is. Under his stage name
Parrot, he has built a loyal fan base over 20
years of performing. Willie has has also worked as a
radio presenter and written material for many other
comedians. |

Duncan
Kennedy
Sailor |
|
Inverclyde has a long history of shipbuilding and
many families have seen their men go off to sea.
Captain Duncan Kennedy is a good example. He was
educated at Finnart School and then The Navigation
School in Greenock before in 1932 joining the S.S.
Cape Verde on a wage of £9 per year! The story of
his life at sea can be viewed by clicking

Neil
McNab
Sport |
|
Neil
was a top young footballer while still a pupil at
The Mount School. He even made his debut for Morton
when he was only 16! Neil went on to play for the
Scotland u21 team and enjoy a long professional
career. His clubs included Spurs and
Manchester City. |
|

Francis
Stewart
Work |
|
Some
people pack a lot into life. Francis has been a
time-served joiner, a driver with the Royal Air
Force all over the world, an HGV driver and a
Customs Officer on teams involved in major 'drug
busts'! All of this is due to Francis's attitude
which is simply to 'have a go at things'. |
