"Quality
rather than quantity ..."
“Colourful, accessible and
interesting for pupils. I am delighted
you have gone for quality rather than
quantity. This is very welcome when we
are already short of time and extra units of
work which last many periods are
simply not possible."
Linda Peasland,
Stafford Sports College
"A great help ..."
"Very definitely a great
help. A very, very useful addition to our
Hospitality course ... really helpful for
the teachers and a good trigger for getting
youngsters to think about many areas. The
materials will be used with three
year groups. A really good resource.
Excellent!"
Head of Department, Clayheath High School
"Excellent time-saver ..."
“We are delighted with
Hospitality Matters. The
department decided the quiz-sheets are so
useful we should laminate them and build
them into our S3 course straight away. Very
colourful and interesting ... and cleverly
designed to hold the youngsters' attention.
Also, there is no added work for the
teachers as the answers are provided. An
excellent time-saver. Well done!"
Class Teacher,
Portobello
High School
"Many thanks ..."
“I want to thank you for the
pupil prizes you sent for the Schools
Hospitality Project. The
youngsters really enjoy the class materials
and the online quizzes are very easy for
staff to use. An excellent, fun way of
learning about the hospitality sector.
We also appreciate the way young
people are encouraged to adopt sensible
attitudes to alcohol. Many thanks.
This is a very useful,
teacher-friendly project."
Department
Head, Ross High School
"Saved
me a great deal of time and effort ..."
“The classroom quiz leaflets are
fantastic, particularly as the answer
sheets are provided which saves a lot of
time. At first I thought I
would use them simply for cover material when staff in the department are absent but
in fact the pupils enjoyed working on them so much I
have decided to make the sheets the basis of
a new unit in our annual course. I have also downloaded the
Case Studies and extra quizzes from the
website, and I am sure this will be the part of
the course the youngsters enjoy most.
Thanks ... you has saved me a great deal of
time and effort."
Head of PSHE in a
large secondary school (1500 pupils)
"Many, many thanks ..."
"Please let
Midlands Co-op know we are very grateful for
their support. The packs are both
professional and colourful. For the topic of
Alcohol Awareness they are a very useful
time-saver, particularly with the answer
sheets provided which is very helpful for
busy staff. The materials can be used easily
and are certainly teacher friendly. I am
very keen to build these into the work
youngsters do with their form tutors. Many,
many thanks."
Paul Whibley,
PSHE, Paulet High School, Stapenhill
"Absolutely
delighted ..."
“Absolutely delighted to be
included in this scheme. Very impressed by
the project materials. I showed them to the
staff in my department who all thought they
were excellent. The content fits neatly into
the 'Community Understanding' element of our
new Citizenship course. Very
teacher-friendly and easy to use.
Thank you very much
indeed.”
Class Teacher, Stafford
High School
"Thank you ..."
“I want to thank you on
behalf of all of our children and staff for
the project box which arrived this
morning. Please rest assured that these
materials will not gather dust - they are
beautifully and thoughtfully designed and
will be used in the very near future. Many thanks.”
Head Teacher,
Tollcross Primary School
"Will
be useful in a number of ways ..."
On behalf of the
school may I thank you. The teaching pack will be useful in
a number of ways:
In science lessons the section on alcohol's
effect on the body and sexual health is
particularly relevant to the module B1:
Understanding Ourselves in the new GCSE
Science course.
The sections on the law are relevant to our
PSHE/Citizenship work in KS3 and will
promote discussion in groups. These sections
will also reinforce the
health aspects covered in Science lessons.
We have also included the Family Quiz
in The Selly Oaker
magazine for pupils and parents. I am sure
many people will enjoy this quiz.
