The Schools Citizenship And Law Project

Benefits

The Schools Law Project is successful largely because it requires no time input from busy law firms yet provides mutual benefits for the firms and the schools they nominate.

The schools receive weekly, news-based materials which introduce pupils to important matters of citizenship and law.  These are highly popular with hard-pressed teaching staff because they are up-to-date yet require no preparation. (samples)

Moreover, when the project is well-established in an area, we introduce a programme of Q&A visits for lawyers who are happy to meet pupils face-to-face.  Of course, there is no requirement to take part in this programme and indeed only a minority of firms do.

Meanwhile, firms also stand to benefit because their support is acknowledged in a ready-to-go news item sent to their nominated schools for the parents' newsletter.

We also set up a page on this website for each participating firm complete with a news article for its own website or general publicity. (sample)

It costs just £50 a year to nominate a secondary school and £30 for a primary.
