The Schools Law Project

The project

The Schools Law Project is a highly successful effort by teachers and the legal profession to introduce youngsters to the legal system and the people who work within it.

The initiative builds links between law firms and schools with important benefits for both.

The Schools Law Project was prompted by the fact that young people often have little understanding of the law and fail to appreciate how vital a role it plays in our society. Many also fail to understand that laws bring responsibilities as well as rights.

The Schools Law Project was set up in 2003 and has now catered for over 60,000 pupils.

The scheme is delivered by teachers but is not a government initiative.  Its success is due entirely to the support of law firms throughout the country.
