The Schools Citizenship And Law Project
(SCALP)

Welcome

The Schools Law Project is a highly successful attempt by teachers and the legal profession to introduce young people to the legal system and those who work within it.

The simple approach of law firms nominating schools of their choice and leaving us to organise everything on their behalf, has proved so successful in Scotland that the initiative is now being extended to the rest of the UK.

Nominated schools receive weekly, news-based materials which introduce pupils to important matters of citizenship and law. (samples)

Meanwhile, a ready-to-go news item thanking the firm is supplied to schools for their parents' newsletter.

The firm also has its own page on this site complete with a news article for use with its own website or other publicity. (sample)

The cost of nominating a school is £50 a year for a secondary and £30 for a primary.
