School Visits
As part of the project, a number of
lawyers have returned to their old school for a Question & Answer session with pupils.
The visits
provide youngsters
with an insight into the legal system and allow them to
ask questions about the type of work lawyers do.
The relaxed sessions can also
help raise the confidence and ambition of
young people by highlighting the success of former
pupils of their school.
They are particularly effective in
schools where many pupils hold low career
expectations.
Typically, the visiting lawyer meets a class of pupils and follows
this with a relaxed chat over coffee with a few senior
students who are considering a law course at university.
In some cases lawyers visit a local
school rather than their own former school.
