The Schools Law & Citizenship Web brings teachers and lawyers together to introduce pupils to the legal system.

It also helps young people understand that laws bring responsibilities as well as rights.

A key feature of the scheme is the use of current news stories to bring citizenship topics to life in the classroom. (view)

We are extremely grateful to our members from the legal community for making the Law & Citizenship Web available to schools  in their local area.

One of our weekly news lessons was prompted by the International Criminal Court verdict on a warlord and child soldiers.  Sensitively handled, this topic can be taught to primary school pupils as well as in secondaries.  Click here to see how we approached it.
