The Schools Law Web was set up in 2003 by Patrick Gaffney, an experienced teacher who has written extensively for both primary and secondary schools.

The scheme aims to introduce pupils to the legal system and also help them appreciate that laws bring responsibilities as well as rights.

The Schools Law Web is delivered primarily by teachers and is supported by law firms throughout the UK as well as many others within the legal community.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Patrick at: schoolslawweb@gmail.com

Patrick Gaffney (standing), Director of The Schools Law Web, discusses how the Law should be taught in schools.  The event was held at the Scottish Parliament during the 2010 Festival of Politics.

In 2006, The Law Society of Scotland presented Patrick with an award for his work on the Schools Law Web, an award he proudly refers to as his 'Lawscar'.  He now hopes the project will enjoy similar success as it is taken up by law firms and schools throughout the rest of the UK.
